From super cars, a gin bar and live music to interactive games and bouncy castles, Hong Kong Golf Club is set to be HK’s no.1 destination for all the family from 9 – 12 January 2020.
From Thursday 9th to Sunday 12th January, the Hong Kong Open returns to the spectacular surroundings of Hong Kong Golf Club for the 61st edition of one of the city’s best loved sporting occasions.
Billed as Hong Kong’s Great Day Out, the rescheduled event boasts four days of world class action on course and a host of fun activities for event goers of all ages to participate in. And with free access on Thursday and Friday – and all four days for under-21s – everyone gets to enjoy the spectacle.
Once again, the Spectator Village is where it all happens. In addition to hunting for autographs from the stars, youngsters can participate in golf coaching clinics and try out a host of Interactive Games on offer. And with bouncy castles, magicians and face-painters all adding to the fun, everyone’s sure to have a ball.
Besides the on-course action, golf aficionados can enjoy regular In the Locker Room player Q&As on the main stage, pick up some great new year bargains from the Tournament Shop or just follow the action on the Big Screen from the comfort of the Village.
Car enthusiasts will be able to eye the latest McLaren GT Super-Car on display, while epicureans can tuck into some local cuisine at the Dim Sum Station or enjoy a cool, refreshing cocktail at the Bauhinia Gin Bar.
Regular food stalls will once again be serving a selection of family favourites and the team from Yardley Brothers will once again be pouring pints of their award-winning craft ale to keep hydration levels high. Victoria Wines adds to the line-up with a selection of reds, whites and roses, all available at the Spectator Village wine bar.
Saturday 11 January sees the tournament’s new charity initiative Beat the Pro make its debut, enabling some 20 amateur golfers to go head-to-head with the pros on the par-3 12th hole. With places available to the broader golfing community, members of the public are required to a make a charitable donation to participate, with places awarded to the highest bidders.
Saturday’s play draws to a close with a 90-minute live music set from Jack Rabbit Slim. The five-piece band will be playing a mix of modern rock and some old favourites. Expect punchy dual guitar licks, thumping bass, machine gun drums, booming vocals and fiery harmonies!

Hosted by Hong Kong Golf Club, the Hong Kong Open features a 120-player field including Major champion Shane Lowry, PGA Tour winner Tony Finau, European Tour winner Kiradech Aphibarnrat, Asian Tour Order of Merit winner Jazz Janewattananond and no less than 12 players flying the flag for Hong Kong!
