The race was sponsored by The European Tour for the first time during its traditional night at the races in Hong Kong, where players, their families, sponsors and officials gather for an informal evening on the eve of the UBS Hong Kong Open.
The European Tour Golf Cup was won by Super Plus, with Young Turbo a close second, followed by Prosperous in third place.
After the race, Olazábal – who also paraded The Ryder Cup Trophy at Happy Valley – Harrington and Rose presented the winner’s and runner-up trophies to the respective Trainers, Jockeys and Stewards, including Brian Stevenson, Chairman of Hong Kong Jockey Club.

The Hong Kong Open is Hong Kong’s oldest professional sporting event. Beginning in 1959, the Hong Kong Open has a rich history of winners including nine different Major Champions who have amassed 25 Major titles between them.
